The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles

Wallace D Wattles 1860 - 1911 was an American author and a New Thought writer, he remains personally somewhat obscure but his writing has been widely quoted and remains in print in the New Thought and self-help movements. Wattles best known work is a 1910 book called The Science of Getting Rich in which he explains how to become wealthy.

As the title suggests, this book is first and foremost a guide to acquiring wealth however there is more to life than achieving financial success, and that is why the author also treats the successful life in general. According to Wattles, the philosophy of the book is based on a monistic viewpoint of the universe, which is also the foundation of oriental philosophy. Because all of life is connected, the author discourages competition and urges the reader to create value instead.

Give everyone more in use value than you take from them in cash value, then you are adding to the life of the world by every business transaction - Wallace D Wattles

The Science of Getting Rich was credited by Rhonda Byrne as one of the inspirations for her popular 2006 film and 2007 book The Secret. As Byrne explained it on the web site of Oprah Winfrey.

"Something inside of me had me turn the pages one by one, and I can still remember my tears hitting the pages as I was reading it. It gave me a glimpse of The Secret. It was like a flame inside of my heart. And with every day since, it's just become a raging fire of wanting to share all of this with the world."

It has inspired countless business leaders investors, CEO's, and entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams of financial wealth and still remains a popular classic today. Utilizing the principles of the Law of Attraction known to most as The Secret will take you on a journey and get you thinking and acting in a certain way which in turn will bring you riches and success.

There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made and which in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. A man or woman can form things in their thought and by impressing their thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing they think about to be created - Wallace D Wattles
